Maribyrnong Veterinary Clinic has its own kitten and cat adoption program run by veterinary nurses Juliana and April. We take in stray, unowned and abandoned kittens and cats of all ages; from bottle feeding to seniors. We, together with our amazing foster carers, work hard to find the best home possible to ensure happy endings for all kitties. All our adoptees come with a personality profile so you know exactly what your kitten or cat is like, are up to date with flea and worming treatments, have had (at least) their first vaccination, microchipped, health checked and de-sexed. They also come with an information pack, free bag of food, an optional nail clip and a full nurse consultation to go over everything. Our kittens come with a two week trial period to ensure they (and you!) will be happy forever. If it doesn’t work out, we are always happy to take them back.
If you or anyone you know is interested in adoption, please call or pop in to the clinic to see what kittens we have available or will have in the near future. We can organise a meet and greet upon request (as our kittens may be at the home of their foster carer, we ask that this request be made in advance).
If you are known to the clinic and are interested in becoming a foster carer, please come in and see our staff and we can get you started with a foster carer information pack and nurses consultation. Fostering can be a very rewarding experience and we encourage homes and families of all kinds (with or without other pets and children) so our kittens can have a big range of socialisation experiences. Please note- fostering is seasonal and fosterers are mostly needed during spring and summer months (breeding season) and there may not be many fostering opportunities in cooler months.
